LA Neighborhoods We Cover
From the beaches to the valleys, we protect pets across all of Los Angeles County.
The Westside & Beaches
Home to LA's coastal communities and upscale neighborhoods. Higher vet density means more options for care, from Venice's beach culture to Brentwood's tree-lined streets.
Popular areas: Venice, Mar Vista, Culver City, Westwood, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades
San Fernando Valley
LA's sprawling suburban communities north of the Hollywood Hills. Family-friendly neighborhoods with plenty of vets and dog parks, but watch for coyotes and heat.
Popular areas: Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Van Nuys, Encino, Woodland Hills, Northridge
Central LA & Hollywood
The heart of Los Angeles, from tourist destinations to trendy neighborhoods. Dense urban living with many 24/7 emergency vets but limited green space for pets.
Popular areas: Hollywood, West Hollywood, Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Koreatown
South Bay & Beach Cities
Coastal communities with year-round mild weather. Great for active dogs but watch for beach hazards like jellyfish and rough surf at dog beaches.
Popular areas: Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, El Segundo, Torrance
East LA & Northeast LA
Historic neighborhoods with growing pet communities. More affordable areas with expanding veterinary services and popular hiking trails (but rattlesnake risks).
Popular areas: Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Boyle Heights, Atwater Village, El Sereno

LA's Best Dog Spots
Ready to explore LA with your pup? Here's the real scoop on popular spots:

Off-Leash Adventures
2000 N Fuller Ave, Hollywood
The famous 160-acre park includes 90 acres of off-leash trails, but dogs must be leashed in paved areas and parking lots. Just know: water fountains are only available at the Vista entrance (bring your own), no restrooms, and yes, those rattlesnake signs are real. Gets packed and hot. Go early! Open sunrise to sunset.
4730 Crystal Springs Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027
Amazing trails but dogs need to stay leashed. You might spot coyotes at dawn/dusk, and watch for rattlesnakes from spring through fall. You'll share trails with horses and most are friendly.
8260 Mulholland Dr, Studio City
Sweet 3-acre spot with separate areas for big and small dogs. Watch for foxtails May through October. Parking can be tough, closes at sunset.

Beach & Boardwalk Scene
Ocean Front Walk
Heads up: Dogs are completely banned from the beach (seriously, they enforce this). Also, no dogs allowed on the boardwalk from 11am–8pm weekends and holidays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Try Westminster Dog Park instead (1234 Pacific Ave, open 6am–10pm)!
Malibu (35000 W Pacific Coast Hwy)
One of the few beaches where dogs are actually welcome on leash in designated areas. Watch for jellyfish and hot sand. Parking is $12 but worth it for beach time.
Long Beach (5000 E Ocean Blvd)
LA County’s only off-leash beach zone! Check posted hours (they change seasonally). Can get rough surf and jellyfish, but 3 acres of sandy freedom. Metered parking.
Quick Safety Tips
Always bring water (most trails have limited or no fountains).
Touch the pavement first because if it's hot for you, it's hot for paws.
Leash fines carry hefty penalties, so follow the rules.
Foxtail removal requires expensive veterinary treatment, so stick to cleared paths.
